Sizing

What to Measure

Your “bike inseam” — or inside leg length — is the distance between your body where it sits on your bike saddle and the ground.

It’s typically an inch or two longer than the length of your trousers, but measure to be sure.

You’ll use this number on the chart to get a feel for how the different models will fit you.

How to Measure

Gather the tools needed:

Medium-width hardcover book
Tape measure
A wall you can stand against
A trusted friend or relative

Wearing your regular riding shoes and with your back to the wall, stand with your feet spread so there is about 7 inches between them - this is about the distance apart your feet would be when straddling a bike with your feet on the ground (standover height).

Place a hardcover book against the wall with the spine of the book facing upward. Slide the book upwards towards your groin until it is solidly against your body. This may be a bit awkward, but is way more comfortable — and safer! — than trying to ride a bike that is too big.

If you have a buddy helping you, get them to measure from the floor to the top of the book spine while you hold the book in place. If you’re going it alone, carefully hold the book in place and measure from the ground to the top of the book spine.

Assembly

Build Difficulty: Medium

We recommend you leave this to our Pros. We offer bike assembly and delivery services in checkout. While Rad electric bikes arrive mostly assembled, some models require more precision.

Display

  • Radar Detection

Get an on-screen heads-up when a vehicle or cyclist is approaching from behind — from up to 100 meters away. Their speed and distance appear on your display, and your taillight flashes to alert them you’re on the road, even if your lights are off.

  • Bright, Full-Color Display

The high-contrast, tempered-glass screen is easy to read in any light — so you can check your stats morning, noon, or night.

  • Class Level

Choose speed settings for your ride:

Class 1: up to 20 mph, throttle only works while pedaling.
Class 2: up to 20 mph while pedaling or throttling.
Class 3, Limited: up to 25 mph while pedaling.
Class 3: up to 28 mph while pedaling.

Remember: adhere to posted speed limits and check local regulations for any speed or ebike class restrictions on the road or trail you're using.

  • Automatic Service Alerts

Built-in notifications remind you when it’s time to give your ebike some TLC — with alerts for tires, brakes, drivetrain, and more, based on your total mileage and how long you’ve owned your ebike.

  • Passcode Protection

Add an extra layer of security with a personal passcode to lock and unlock your controls. Sharing your ebike? Set a guest code to give others access — and lock in speed settings if you want to set limits.

  • Speedometer

Fast and Curious? The speedometer will tell you your current speed.

  • Odometer

Track the distance you’ve racked up, either by trip or through the ebike’s entire lifespan.

  • Estimated Remaining Range

Is it time to recharge? To help you keep track, this displays your remaining battery life in either percentage or remaining miles.

  • Trip Time

Did your trip feel like it was just half an hour, or did time fly by? This display will show you the time you spend on each outing. Be sure to reset your trip odometer before a ride you want to track.

  • Pedal Assist Level

The higher the number, the more the motor will boost you when you pedal. This shows what level you’re on, from 0 to 5.

  • Headlight

The headlights turn on automatically, so you won’t forget — and thanks to the ambient light sensor, they’ll activate when your surroundings get dim.

  • USB-C Charge Indicator

Charging your device? This will confirm if your phone (or tablet, or smartwatch, or headphones, or …) is getting the juice it needs.
